Artists Jacquie Cobb and Slawek Kasolka were immediately drawn to each other after their first meeting. What started out as a simple second date paint night, has turned into a committed relationship and a shared love of art. Every Monday evening is spent in the studio at Kasolka's home, painting side by side, both artists using different media and techniques, and finding inspiration in each other's work. The pair are able to spend quality time together and still focus on creating exciting new work. "It's the perfect relationship." says Jacquie. "I'm so inspired by the way he paints, and I've seen a noticeable improvement in my own work, based on that inspiration, and trying out new techniques."

Kasolka writes, "I introduced Jacquie to the power of using social media, as an artist, and now, with her guidance, we are applying for local art exhibitions and grants, something I have less experience in. I have also begun to expand my subject matter to include cityscapes, as the complex detail in her work inspired me to challenge myself."

Kasolka's art focuses primarily on portraiture, using thick, vibrant colours and a wonderful mix of different media, including acrylic paint, markers, and inks. The often famous subjects, depicted in these paintings, are seen now, as never before.

Cobb's paintings, offer a highly detailed look into the reflective imagery captured during her travels. Using mainly oil paint, and a thick resin gloss, she works to blur the lines of interior and exterior space, creating a complex visual experience.
